Sharon Lefkowitz

HR Management and Development Consultant
THE FOCUS GROUP

Sharon has over 35 years’ human resources management and development experience, working for the majority of her corporate career in Pharmaceutical Distribution, Manufacturing and Commercial marketing and sales. In the last some 20 years’, she has been consulting to various blue chip and medium sized clients, across industries, at Executive and Management levels, with focus and expertise further gained in the healthcare industry as a whole. She has also gained experience as HR Consultant to Small to Medium sized businesses (on a retainer basis), within the Healthcare, IT/ICT, Property and Facilities Management, Architecture, and related companies.

Sharon has an all-round HR Generalist background with her main specializations being in: HR strategy and operational management, talent acquisition (executive search, general recruitment and selection) and talent management (job profiling, performance coaching and management, learning and development and compensation and rewards consulting), setting up of learning academies which has included: learning and development strategies, learning methodologies, curriculum design and development, executive to management to specialist level facilitation across leadership, business skills, project management etc. and she has coordinated and managed a number of graduate development programmes, workplace experience programmes, learnerships and skills programmes.

Other projects have included, amongst others, strategic planning, employment equity implementation in association with BBBEE strategies, job profiling and competency framework design, competency-based recruitment and selection, performance management, organisational development and culture management, and job evaluation, grading and salary structuring. Her work has also extended to employee relations consulting including, advising and/or chairing of disciplinary and incapacity hearings, retrenchment consulting and outplacement counselling, and employee wellness projects.

In the area of executive talent search and acquisition, Sharon has worked across all industries and functions, with her specialization across core and non-core functions in Healthcare (including pharmaceuticals, medical technology devices, hospital groups and clinics, medical schemes and administrators etc), FMCG and consumer health, financial services (banking, insurance, finance) and property management (including full asset management, portfolio management, technical and operations management, architects, interior designers, project managers etc.). She has also worked across international assignments with a number of placements across the Africa continent. Her clients are blue chip companies, most of which have a global footprint as multinationals.

Her core skills Learning and Development and Facilitation focus has been on HR Management, Leadership, Management, Supervision, Interaction and Relationship Management skills and Personal Management skills to ensure people are given the core competencies to maximize their performance in the work and personal lives. She supports her facilitation interventions with Executive / Business Coaching and Mentoring interventions. She has also run a number of learnerships, internships and graduate workplace experience programs within companies with notable successes, as the project manager and learner mentor, between the Employer and Training Provider and learners, and in so doing has successfully provided Workplace Readiness Training and Coaching support to the learners.

Sharon’s qualifications have equipped her within her career, with an Honours in Industrial Psychology (UNISA) and a Post Graduate Diploma in HR Management (Wits Business School) and a Management Development Programme Diploma (Wits University, Enterprise Hub). She is a registered assessor, moderator and verifier with the Services SETA and ETDP SETA and registered against a series of HR, OD and Business Management related. qualifications with the ETDP and Services Setas respectively. Her business SL&A is also an accredited training provider with the Services SETA and one of her main expertise areas is assisting other Providers with provider accreditation, learning programme alignment and design, and the full QALA (quality assurance of learner achievements) process.
